# Don't Starve Together — Camp in the Constant A 100-tile board with **75 unique tasks: 40 easy and 35 moderate**, six ladders, six snakes, twelve other extra-roll tiles and an automatic finish. Difficulty is an editorial estimate, not a gameplay playtest. No bosses, Ruins, sailing, lunar/shadow progression or endgame equipment are required. ## Start an event Run `/game setup`, choose **100 tiles**, **Don't Starve Together**, and **Mix of text and uploads**, then **Templates → Don't Starve Together challenges**. Review the preview and confirm. The theme also supports custom 50-tile boards; this ready-made template is for 100 tiles only. The importable [CSV](dont-starve-together-challenges.csv) is also shipped at `web/downloads/dont-starve-together-challenges.csv`. Keep the two copies identical. The website's downloadable host guide mirrors this file. ## World and task rules - Use a normal surface world in autumn. A prepared shared camp with Science Machine, Alchemy Engine, Crock Pot, pond access and common supplies keeps later rolls achievable. Hosts can use Endless mode and a long autumn to reduce reset and seasonal waiting; agree settings before starting. - Shared facilities, materials, guides and retries are allowed. Complete each action after landing, including repeat visits. A ladder can skip preparation tiles: players may obtain any prerequisite without first landing on its tile. - Item amounts are small totals for that task, not full stacks. Gather tasks require freshly obtained items; crafting/building tasks require a new item or structure. Storage tasks may use an existing chest. Discovery tasks may revisit an already discovered location and show it on the map. - Any character can join. For character restrictions (for example Wigfrid's diet or Webber's spider relationships), allow a teammate to perform the blocked action while the player contributes materials. Cooking tasks require making the dish, not eating it. Agree equivalent substitutions with the host if a character or world setting blocks an objective. - All movement and extra-roll tiles resolve automatically; only the 75 tasks require evidence. Tile 100 finishes automatically. “No endgame” describes the DST objectives, not the board's finish. ## Evidence and practical notes Use a screenshot of the inventory with counts, a placed structure, the recipe result, or the map/location. For actions that a final screenshot cannot establish (crafting, replanting, killing spiders, fishing, keeping a fire lit), supply before/after images, a short clip, or a moderator-approved text account. The chosen mixed evidence mode allows both text and uploads. Keep these tasks approachable: - Ordinary Spiders only: lure a few away from a small den in daylight with armour and a weapon. No Spider Warriors, Spider Queens or den clearing are required. Teammates may help. - Burn only isolated trees away from camp and other vegetation for Charcoal, then chop the burnt trees. The task does not require setting a forest alight. - Collect Cut Reeds from safe marsh edges and avoid tentacles. Pig House and Beefalo tasks require discovery only; no fighting or taming. - Replanted Grass Tufts and Berry Bushes need fertilizing. Berry Bush variants count. Saplings do not need fertilizer; use manure or rot on three transplanted grass tufts or berry bushes for the fertilizer task. - Pond Fish are caught using the ordinary Fishing Rod, not ocean fishing equipment. Fishsticks, Meatballs, Ratatouille and Trail Mix are ordinary Crock Pot dishes; recipes and retries are allowed. - Dry two Morsels on a Drying Rack; weather can delay drying. Existing racks may be used. Catch Butterflies in daylight and plant the captured butterflies to make Flowers. - For the Birdcage, build a new cage and put a caught bird in it. For Eggs, feed two suitable cooked meat items (such as Cooked Morsels) to a caged bird; shared cages are allowed. - Farming uses a Garden Digamajig, Garden Hoe and Watering Can. Till nine mounds on Farm Soil and plant Seeds; the water task can use an existing planted plot. No giant crops or perfect nutrient balance are required. - Heat a Thermal Stone beside a fire until it visibly turns orange. Winter is not required. For the full-night task, maintain a fire from nightfall to dawn and show the clock at both ends. - The final cooking task means three distinct Crock Pot recipes made after landing. Earlier dishes are allowed again. Shared ingredients and facilities are encouraged. - If the event reaches winter, wait for a suitable season or agree a comparable gathering/crafting substitution for frozen ponds or unavailable butterflies. Long autumn is recommended to avoid these waits. ## Task list | Tile | Difficulty | Objective | | --- | --- | --- | | 1 | Easy | Gather 20 Cut Grass | | 2 | Easy | Gather 20 Twigs | | 4 | Easy | Chop and collect 12 Logs | | 5 | Easy | Collect 6 Flint | | 6 | Easy | Mine and collect 12 Rocks | | 7 | Easy | Mine 3 Gold Nuggets | | 8 | Easy | Craft an Axe | | 11 | Easy | Craft a Pickaxe | | 12 | Easy | Craft 2 Torches | | 13 | Easy | Craft a Grass Suit | | 14 | Easy | Craft a Garland | | 17 | Easy | Craft a Backpack | | 18 | Easy | Craft a Shovel | | 19 | Easy | Craft a Hammer | | 20 | Easy | Craft 2 Traps | | 21 | Easy | Catch a Rabbit in a Trap | | 23 | Easy | Cook 2 Morsels over a fire | | 24 | Easy | Build a Fire Pit | | 26 | Easy | Build a Science Machine | | 27 | Easy | Refine 3 Rope | | 30 | Easy | Refine 3 Boards | | 31 | Easy | Refine 3 Cut Stone | | 32 | Easy | Dig up 3 tree stumps | | 33 | Easy | Plant 5 Pine Cones | | 34 | Easy | Pick 8 Berries or Juicy Berries | | 35 | Easy | Pick 6 Carrots | | 36 | Easy | Collect 6 Seeds | | 37 | Easy | Roast 4 Berries or Juicy Berries | | 38 | Easy | Roast 4 Carrots | | 39 | Easy | Pick 3 Red Mushrooms | | 40 | Easy | Cook 3 Red Mushrooms | | 41 | Easy | Craft a Straw Hat | | 43 | Easy | Find a Beefalo herd | | 44 | Easy | Collect 6 Manure | | 45 | Easy | Find a Pond | | 47 | Easy | Find a Pig House | | 49 | Easy | Map a rocky biome | | 51 | Easy | Build a Chest | | 52 | Easy | Store 4 resource types in a Chest | | 53 | Easy | Keep a campfire lit for a full night | | 54 | Moderate | Build an Alchemy Engine | | 55 | Moderate | Build a Crock Pot | | 56 | Moderate | Cook 2 Meatballs | | 57 | Moderate | Cook Ratatouille | | 60 | Moderate | Cook Trail Mix | | 61 | Moderate | Craft a Fishing Rod | | 62 | Moderate | Catch 3 Pond Fish | | 63 | Moderate | Cook Fishsticks | | 65 | Moderate | Build a Drying Rack | | 67 | Moderate | Dry 2 Morsels into Small Jerky | | 70 | Moderate | Collect 6 Charcoal | | 71 | Moderate | Replant 3 Saplings near camp | | 73 | Moderate | Replant 5 Grass Tufts near camp | | 74 | Moderate | Replant 2 Berry Bushes near camp | | 75 | Moderate | Fertilize 3 transplanted plants | | 76 | Moderate | Craft a Spear | | 77 | Moderate | Craft a Log Suit | | 78 | Moderate | Craft a Football Helmet | | 79 | Moderate | Defeat 3 ordinary Spiders | | 80 | Moderate | Collect 6 Silk | | 81 | Moderate | Craft 2 Healing Salves | | 82 | Moderate | Craft a Bug Net | | 83 | Moderate | Catch 4 Butterflies | | 84 | Moderate | Plant 2 Butterflies as Flowers | | 86 | Moderate | Craft a Bird Trap | | 87 | Moderate | Catch a bird in a Bird Trap | | 88 | Moderate | Build and stock a Birdcage | | 89 | Moderate | Trade cooked meat for 2 Eggs | | 90 | Moderate | Collect 8 Cut Reeds | | 91 | Moderate | Refine 2 Papyrus | | 93 | Moderate | Deploy a Garden Digamajig | | 95 | Moderate | Till and plant 9 farm Seeds | | 96 | Moderate | Water 9 planted farm mounds | | 97 | Moderate | Craft and heat a Thermal Stone | | 99 | Moderate | Cook 3 different Crock Pot dishes | ## Artwork and regeneration The original fan-inspired ink-and-sepia woodland background was generated with the built-in image generation tool on 2026-09-10. It is embedded at `src/SnakesAndLadders.Bot/Assets/Themes/dont-starve-constant-backdrop.jpg`, so rendering works offline. All tile text, numbers, snakes, ladders and tokens come from the bot renderer. The complete generation prompt is in [ART_PROMPT.md](ART_PROMPT.md). The PNG/SVG samples show synthetic players. ```powershell dotnet run --project src/SnakesAndLadders.Bot -c Release -- --render-theme dont-starve-constant samples/themes/dont-starve-together/dont-starve-together-challenges.csv samples/themes/dont-starve-together "Don't Starve Together Camp Challenge" dotnet run --project src/SnakesAndLadders.Bot -c Release --no-build -- --validate-board samples/themes/dont-starve-together/dont-starve-together-challenges.csv ``` Encode the rendered PNG into `web/assets/board-previews/dont-starve-together.webp` (1200 × 1280, WebP quality 85) and `dont-starve-together-full.webp` (3000 × 3200, quality 92). Run `node scripts/render-dont-starve-assets.cjs` after rendering; it also checks CSV/guide parity and refreshes the downloadable guide. ## Gameplay references Checked 2026-09-10 against the community wiki's indexed descriptions: [DST farming changes](https://dontstarve.wiki.gg/wiki/Farm), [birds and traps](https://dontstarve.wiki.gg/wiki/Birds), [Crock Pot recipe table](https://dontstarve.wiki.gg/wiki/Crock_Pot/Recipe_Table), and [DST Thermal Stone](https://dontstarve.wiki.gg/wiki/Thermal_Stone/DST).
